One-Liter Audi Prototype

The German company Audi is working on a model of a supereconomical small car. It is planned that the fuel consumption of this new model will not exceed 1 liter per 100 kilometers. Such ambitious and from one side even unrealistic plan was communicated to the public in person by the head of research and development of Audi – Wolfgang Dyurhaymer.

Mr Wolfgang also told that a novelty is planned to make this new four-seated car quite available for the public. Moreover, to reach this the manager said that they are not going to lessen the equipment of the car, as the new Audi will come with the same level of staffing as good high-end car of this brand. Externally, the car will be finished in the style of a concept car Crosslane Coupe, which was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Show in Paris.

The new concept model will be built on a modified steel platform of the good old Model A1. Body as a car suspension will be implemented with the use of molded carbon fiber. In the engine compartment of this new small car the company plans to install a small engine, that will be working together with the electric motor. Wolfgang Dyurhaymer said that the first production of this car, which is within the company referred to as “one-liter car” will not begin until 2015.
