Tesla Roadster 3.0 – more then 600 km without recharging

Following the recent Elon Musk’s announcement of the Tesla Roadster updates, Tesla has officially unveiled its new revised version of the first model. Novelty can boast of a power reserve of almost 650 km. More specifically, the roadster which got an addition 3.0 to its name can travel 640 km without recharging that is 250 km more than its predecessor. It is made due to the new battery with 31 % increased capacity (70 kWh).

New-Roadster also got a different body kit with additional aerodynamic elements reducing the aerodynamic drag coefficient to 0.31 (against the previous 0.36), and tires with reduced road resistance. What about the electric motor of the model, there are not too much details yet (probably here everything remains unchanged). We remind that the first Roadster was powered by a 280-strong unit and was able to speed up 0-100 km / h in just 3.7 seconds.

Well, that’s a significant upgrade. By the way, Tesla wanted to demonstrate very impressive Roadster possibilities – in early January 2015, the novelty made a travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco. It was made without stopping for the recharging. It was a distance for approximately 600 km. According to Tesla, cruise control was used on the highway sections, it was made for staying around the speed limit, and also the heater was turned on about 40 minutes.
