The success of Nissan Juke in the compact SUV section is lighting up the desire of many car brands to withstand it and to share the podium. The concern of great German automaker Volkswagen is no exception to that. For months rumors were boiling around that the Germans were going to launch a new product in a class B, and finally, this information was confirmed by the representatives of the company.

The new SUV will be developed based on the Volkswagen Polo, from which it received new next-generation platform based on a modular architecture of MQB, but apparently the novelty is unlikely to resemble the “genetic” relative. Previously, VW has already attempted to quickly turn hatchback crossover by increasing the ground clearance and adding plastic clothes – and so we could witness the CrossPolo, though this experiment was not successful among customers. Therefore, the new compact SUV will be externally unlikely to any others models and will even borrow some of the stylistic features of the concept Cross Coupe, which appears twice in the showrooms (in Tokyo and Geneva-2011-2012). The range of modifications of the new crossover from VW will be rather large. First, it will be issued as a full and front wheel drive, and, according to analysts, it will have the greatest demand is for the front-wheel modification.
