Volkswagen Taigun Aiming for Fuel Saving

As fuel consumption of becoming one of the most important questions of the modern consumer it is not a wonder why even the most traditional automakers of big and inefficient cars started to shift towards more fuel saving systems and technologies! Therefore as a follower of this trend Volkswagen revealed at the Auto Show in Sao Paulo its new concept car of a compact crossover. Novelty was named as Volkswagen Taigun and spends for a combined cycle just 4.5 l/100km. The audience greeted the car with a really warm welcome, but will this new vehicle get into the series production, is still unknown.

Under the hood of the crossover there is a great 3-cylinder TSI engine with direct fuel injection and the power output of 110 hp and a maximum torque of 175 Nm. The acceleration of the concept to the 100 km/h is achieved in 9.2 seconds. The exterior of the model is made in the style of Cross Coupe, which was showed at Volkswagen showrooms in Tokyo and Geneva. The prototype is equipped with 2-piece tailgate, roof rails with integrated LED lights and 17-inch wheels with tires of the dimension 205/50. In its length, width and height the new concept car reaches 3859x1728x2470 mm, respectively. The trunk volume with raised rear seats is 280 liters, and when folded – 987 liters.
