We didn’t see any concepts of the common production of two companies lately, therefore this new roadster will be like a new fresh spice added to our daily news. BMW and Italian studio Zagato presented in the Californian contest of elegance and automotive design that took place at Pebbl Beach their new concept roadster. According to official press releases, the new product is an open version of the same compartment which was made on the base model of Z4 that debuted at the May show at Villa d’Este.

New concept roadster, designed and hand-built in six weeks, has a three-liter six-cylinder turbocharged BMW engine, whose power, with the help of an increasing boost pressure and new exhaust system installed, has increased from 340 to 406 horsepower. Like the coupe Zagato, the new roadster is built in one piece and has almost no common body parts with serial BMW Z4. It comes with the original fenders, hood, lighting and soft folding roof with traditional models Zagato convex “bubbles” on the driver and passenger seats. According to chief designer of BMW, Karim Habib, a series of similar coupe and roadsters are not planned. But he added that if the demand for novelty will be high, the company still can begin small-scale production, but this car will be worth twice the price of regular BMW Z4.
