Infiniti Q50 Model Overview

At the Detroit Motor Show the premium sedan Infiniti Q50 was presented. It is a first model, that was called according to the recently announced naming strategy of brand. Q50 will replace the Infiniti G sedan and will be a manifistation the new design direction of the company.

In the North American market Infiniti Q50 will be offered in two versions. A more traditional version, like on the sedan series G, will receive a 3.7-liter V6 with the power output of 328-hp. Apart from it, there will be a hybrid version. It combines a gasoline 3.5-liter V6 (with power level equal to 296 hp) and an electric motor with 67 hp in return. The electricity will be stored in a compact lithium-ion battery. The transmission system for the Q50 will be a familiar seven-step “automatic” with manual shift of “paddles” on the steering wheel. Both models are available with the rear, and with intelligent all-wheel drive. Later in the series we will see other engines.

Among other interesting features of Q50 we should mention adaptive steering wheel with four preset modes. System changes the force on the wheel, depending on the vehicle speed. We should also note the system Active Lane Control – part of the Lane Departure Prevention. Watchful “eyes” of the system installed on the rear-view mirrors, control the movement of the car on the strip.
