New hybrid concept of the future Peugeot L500R Hybrid

Peugeot turned its gaze to the past of the brand and has created an incredible hybrid concept, which will be appreciated by fans of the classics, as well as fans of futurism.
Peugeot has not won the famous race in the Indianapolis 500 this year. But in fact, the Peugeot factory team, which won the nickname “Charlatans”, won the Indy 500 in 1913, 1916 and 1919. L500R – hybrid concept designed to celebrate this glorious history, but at the same time to test the future of motor racing technology.

Although the car was created as a tribute to the past, its power plant L500R Hybrid is a fully modern hybrid plant with total capacity of 500 hp (373 kW) and a torque of 730 Nm.

With gasoline turbo engine capacity of 270 hp (201 kW) and two electric motors on both axles car weighing just 1,000 kg literally catapulted from their seats, acceleration to 100 km / h in just 2.5 seconds. The cars overcomes one kilometer in just 19 seconds. In contrast to the age-old race car, the new Peugeot concept car is equipped with a fully enclosed cabin.
