New Concept Car from SsangYong

South Korean automaker introduced the next version of the concept XIV, that also received a prefix «e» to its name – hence, guests of the Paris Motor Show could get to know a third, an electric version of the crossover (the first concept of the family was five-door XIV-1, that was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011 year, and this spring in Geneva another concept debuted which was a three-door modification known as XIV-2).

In the movement the concept model of SsangYong known now as e-XIV is lead by the 80-kilowatt electric motor, powered by a lithium-ion battery, which provides a full charge cruising range of 80 kilometers. To recharge the batteries require the time frame of four hours (on a special quick charger power station the batteries can be recharged in just 20 minutes). While on board and there is a standard 2-cylinder engine that can recharge the batteries on the go, increasing the range of up to six kilometers. Another distinctive feature of the new concept is the glass roof with integrated solar panels to it, the accumulated energy is spent on work of the audio system, air conditioning and lighting.
